StoryBoard 2.0

inspiration of shot 1

This week we were a little bit stuck with the character design. Stuart gave us some advice about this question and inspired us that if we what to find some things to represent cancer, we didn’t have to use a specific character. Instead of designing the character in purple, we could use purple to represent cancer directly. And don’t be limited by the sound.

Based on this, I started to think about a new storyboard which is more abstract. But I just have a general direction for the new storyboard. I have no idea how to start. So I kept watching and finding new references.

Just before I went to bed at night, I suddenly saw the candle lit in the cupboard and suddenly got inspiration. The candle is in this enclosed space. The walls were illuminated by light. The presence of candles can be felt as long as in this box. Some parts of the box were illuminated, and the intense reflection was in response to the light of the candle. But some places are still dark. Cancer is just like this candle, and the box is our community —–most people know the existence of cancer, but there are some of them who don’t know and some of them don’t what to talk about cancer. We can’t avoid it, because it’s really here. The candle is in this box, and cancer exists in the world.

Starting from this, I draw the new storyboard. It’s mainly about using geometric figures to symbolize different things.
