Research on Technology_ Creative Technology Lab
The first way is to seek help from the teachers of the Creative Technology Lab. One solution provided by the teacher is to use a laser and equip a laser receiver on the top to determine the position of the audience. But the teacher also pointed out that there is a problem that the audience needs to be equipped with a laser on their feet after entering the venue. As a result, this option becomes less feasible. So I thought of the workshop about Arduino I attended here in my freshman year. I knowed that the only sensor offerd in our school is Arduino, and schools offer courses on Arduino and that distance-aware parts are available. So in order to specifically detect the position of the audience, I proposed a plan to use two Ardunio distance sensors, and got a positive reply from the teacher about the feasibility. But the specific operation remains to be studied in depth.
Unity- Interaction System
I am thinking about making the scene interactive at the end so that people can click the sacrificial offerings and see the introduction of them and burn them in the fire. But I’m not sure whether can I achieve these effects before the deadline.
So now I am only going to research it. If it is too complicated or too many new things that I need to learn, I will leave this part of work to the summer holiday.
- The interactions I need:
- Trigger to display the text introduction of the sacrifice, which will disappear automatically after a few seconds
- Click to trigger the effect of burning the sacrifice, or click to trigger the effect of the sacrifice being thrown into the fire and burned
- To achieve these effects I can:
a. Find specific tutorials online with prepared code
b. Find basic tutorials and use ChatGPT to write the code for me
c. Ask tutors in Creative Technology Lab for help
